LED RETROFITS:This past year has brought significant changes in LED lamps. WPF continues to research and best manufacturers as replacement option for the commonly used incandescent lamps: PAR 20, PAR 30, A19, MR16 and candelabra lamps. Dimming of these products varies and not all lamps are dimmable—each application must be reviewed. Warranty, life and color vary significantly—We recommend testing samples. We currently have LED lamps in both residential and commercial jobs and have found these to be viable alternative |
to incandescent for both renovation and new construction. We have samples of many of these lamps and would welcome the opportunity to suggest something for one of your projects. Maintenance and operating costs can be reduced significantly and in many cases utility incentives are available. CONSUMERS ENERGY TRADE ALLYWPF Engineering has been approved as a Trade Ally for Residential and Business projects by Consumers Energy. Trade Allies are essential in helping clients obtain utility incentives and improve energy efficiency. |

Project ShowcaseThe Amway Grand - Center Concourse Renovation project was completed in 2010 and submitted for an IES award. WPF worked in conjunction with Concept Design Group and Gooche Design Studios on this project. This space is used as a lobby, pre function space for receptions and exhibit space so light level needed to be flexible for a variety of tasks. Prefabricated coves were added to existing structure with color changing cove lighting that illuminates the entire cove for a dramatic and dynamic lighting system for not only the center concourse but also the bar below on the main level. Dimmable fluorescent was used for general lighting and extended life MR16 lamps used for accent. Custom pendants utilize LED for long life. Project exceeded Ashrae 2007 code by 8%.
