Energy Rebate Programs:

Consumers energy and many other utilities offer energy rebates as an incentive for owners to reduce their energy usage.  Utilities have been federally mandated to reduce overall energy usage and the rebate programs are put into effect to meet these goals.  These funds go very quickly and these programs will close well before the end of the year.  WPF can help you determine if your project may be eligible for these programs and help you reserve funds.

Energy rebates are available for New and Renovation projects.  New projects must be applied for in the schematic phase of the project.  If accepted the utility will act as a quality control agent during the design process.  All rebates provide cash back to the Owner based on energy savings.  These programs take into account building envelope, lighting and mechanical systems.  A change has been made this year for New building projects allowing two paths for incentives:  prescriptive/custom or whole building.  The prescriptive/custom approach is used when a whole building simulation model is not needed.  Pre-set incentives for a wide range of the most common electric and gas equipment are available.   Whole building incentives should be used for all LEED projects and projects that require a model.  The owner and design team also receive incentives to offset the additional cost of the modeling when using the whole building approach.

Utility rebate programs can be used in conjunction with the Energy Policy Act (EPACT) tax credits.  To learn more about these exciting programs please contact us.  We enjoy helping our clients save energy and get paid for it!

WINDQUEST BUILDING:

WPF Engineering has provided lighting design services for the entire building including the exterior lighting. The architecture and interior design was done by Via Design. The Reserve (wine bar) opened this year. WPF Engineering was responsible for not only the lighting design but electrical power, cabling and fire protection as well. This building houses offices for Windquest as well as showroom and private office space on the upper floors.

RESERVE

The wine bar opened in time for Art Prize - September 2011. The beautiful painting that won Art Prize in 2010 is located above the bar. No custom light fixtures were utilized for the lighting design. The project had to maintain a tight budget and we were able to utilize standard fixtures yet create a very unique atmosphere.
